Q. Do infomercials, commercials, etc. require cue sheets as well? A. Infomercials, commercials and any other audio/visual products that contain multiple pieces of music require cue sheets to be filed. For commercials, the format of the cue sheet is different than it is for shows and motion pictures. ASCAP has a form called the "Commercial Music Checklist", and BMI has a "Commercial Jingle Report" that they use for reporting the use of music in commercials. If you're producing a commercial that is to air in a country outside of the USA, please contact the PRO for that country to determine what their specific filing requirements may be. |
